    I love French Braid quilts...the last 2 I made, I tried to "match" the pattern of the large center squares...one was a paisley...so that was easy for the quilter to "match"...the other was more "flowery"...and I ended up picking a really simple flower pattern for quilting...and had her make the pattern as wide as she could...My son picked a sunflower pattern for his as the center blocks were batik sunflowers...

    The piecing is so beautiful, I would keep the quilting VERY simple. You don't want to take away from the beautiful piecing with a distracting quilt pattern. just mho

    Welcome to the board! You have found a great place to learn, share, laugh, vent and cry :D Enjoy the journey, the eye candy is spectacular :thumbup:

    Talk to your long-arm quilter first...many of us do not do pantographs...others have a computerized quilting system and they have lots of patterns on their computer that would work for you...others can do custom, hand-guided quilting without a pattern just from talking to you about what you want!
