Hello....
I am a new quilter, sewed off and on most of my life, but never pieced a quilt. I have a 50 some year old Bernini that my Mom got me when I was a teenager. Will be retiring in the next couple of years and started thinking I needed something to keep me busy. I have always admired people who could quilt so I decided to try it. I lurked here for quite awhile, looking at your beautiful work and reading, reading, reading. I seem to be drawn most to scrappy and wonky patterns. I ran across a book from Karla Alexander and loved the wonkieness so I gave it try. This is my first attempt. Thank you for all your help and inspiration! I'm hooked!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. What a fun quilt and so well done! How lucky to have an old Bernina to sew with.

OK...first reaction?

WOW! That's fantastic!

You've got a great eye for colour and shape, that's for sure. I'm amazed that's your first quilt. Mine was barely recognizable as a quilt! That looks like something you'd put in a show.

Oh my gosh that quilt is gorgeous & fun. I love all the color combinations you used. I would have never tried blocks on point for my first quilt. I think no intimidation makes for a very good quilter & it looks like you've got just what it takes! Thanks for sharing that fantastic quilt with us.

That is a fabulous quilt! Can't believe it was done by a beginner. The wonky squares... I can't find any two just alike. Can't wait to see your second quilt!!

(We don't have stars here, so I gave you 5 thumbs up!)
