Now that I'm here I don't know what to say.

I've been quilting on and off for about 20 years. I work full time so that severely cuts into my sewing/quilting time. I have not advanced in my quiltmaking nearly as quickly as I wanted. My BFF's MIL got us started and I'm so glad she did. Our tastes in quilt patterns and fabrics are very different but we both enjoy the process and we bought an HQ-16 together.

I have one husband, two daughters, 6 grandkids (2 of them are twins). DH and I have been empty-nesters for 10 years - WOO HOO. I sing in the church praise choir, we have a 5th wheel and love to go camping at the lake. We also enjoy boating and fishing. I love going to quilt shops with my BFF.

My favorite holiday isn't a holiday at all, but it's the Houston Int'l. Quilt Festival. It's better than Christmas IMHO. I think everyone should make an effort to come to the Houston quilt show at least once in their life. I am fortunate to live in the Houston suburbs so I commute to the quilt show and bring along a few friends.

This is a great forum from what I've seen so far.

Hi and welcome from another Texas girl. I split my time now between Lubbock (where home, husband and dog are) and Austin (where grandson is), but I lived and taught school in Spring for 25 years.

Welcome from California - don't we all wish we could quit our day jobs? Just means more money for fabric that we don't have time to use.
