Welcome, Nicol! Losing loved ones takes a lot of healing, so just give yourself time.

There are many crafts which take very little room; maybe you could learn one of those, to help ease your pain. I keep my crochet projects in tote bags, to carry around with me. Even though you don't have room to spread out, you can still do quilting. If you have room to set your sewing machine, just make up your mind to make it happen! You can cut fabric, on the kitchen table. Store your fabrics and "in progress" projects, in stacking plastic bins. Concentrate on smaller projects, like crib quilts or wall hangings . . . or just work on quilt tops, which can be quilted later. If quilt tops seem too large, just work on quilt blocks.

Hi Nicol & Welcome from Florida. I'm so sorry for the loss of your aunt & your mother. Many of our members sew on their kitchen or dining table & perhaps you could make some small blocks for potholders.
