Welcome! I started quilting with some direction from a friend. She had me do a table runner to start. My first blanket was a toddler quilt using the rail fence pattern. These are a great size for laps while watching tv, reading, etc., but they aren't so big to be intimidating. Good luck!

I have only been quilting about 5 years. Machine piecing, hand quilting.........I visited a guild in my community and looked on as the members made quilts..Most of their quilts were for charity........Beautiful work...This guild was a church group. Meeting in the church social hall weekly........Everyone was so nice and helpful. Quilters are the most generous and kind folk I know.
Happy quilting and I hope you find other quilters to teach you some of their tips.
