also might mention the Upload button must be selected. it sometimes hides off to the right side, so scroll over a bit.

I did see the upload button and used it every time, then I get a message stating that the upload failed. I am actually using Google. Maybe I can try Edge - those are the only 2 I have - not that I can't download another one....

Default here is picture of block already made

Let's see if I can get the picture to attach. Yes, the picture attached. (flutterByGreen, just in case - if you click on the image it will open up larger)

I wonder how active the group is, since it was from a couple of years ago. Since I don't quilt, take this with a grain of salt, it almost looks like the person that made these blocks added some to the seam allowances, as from the picture on the website doesn't look like the inside triangles cross before adding the outside (large off white) triangles. I guess that is one way not to cut off the points. It will be interesting to find out if followed the book or ???

The final round of white triangles are made a little extra large on purpose. This allows the colored square to float rather than come to a point exactly at the seam line. Just one of many common quilting techniques. This block is a lovely variation of a "Square in a Square" block. It might now look simple is the form your received it but take a big breath. If you are part of a sewing group or guild or just have a quilting friend, they can give you some tips in person to help make this block perfect.

I will give a first tip: This block has a lot of bias edges, Bias edges will stretch and distort if we are not careful. Press gently and square up the block after each round when the block becomes a square again.. It will become second nature to press and square up. The final result will be a block that is pretty near perfect and flat.

In the end you will likely love this quilt so much you will not want to give it back! .

Oh thank you so much! I was wondering about the block, she did say that her work wasn't the best so I'm not sure if it was done on purpose or she was in a hurry and didn't make sure her pieces were correctly lining up. Either way, I can't say anything because all my quilts end up wonky. I will find out how active the group is once I get the book and join the group - you can't join unless you have the book in hand to answer a question. Thanks for the tips!

I did get the book with the block in it, but upon further investigation into the bag of goodies from my friend, she has the 6 completed blocks as earlier stated and she also has at least 10 more started. That being said, she was not working on the sampler. Big Sigh....I think I will just finish the blocks she started and see what I have, then I can see what I can supplement with the rest of the provided fabric. Kind of a challenge - I like challenges...sort of. This will be a long project as I am working on about 5 other projects right now and don't want to add a 6th at this time. I am refacing 1 old quilt and making a new face and back for another for myself. Hope you all have a delightful Thanksgiving!

I would probably make a wall hanging out of the 6 completed blocks. I say this from experience. I was given some blocks to complete into a quilt also. It was difficult to say the best. I know my friend appreciated the quilt but what she really wanted was her mom's blocks, not mine. It ended up being mostly my quilt. Just a thought.

Update: I finally have the top completed and made a pillow with one of the blocks. I now have to quilt it - trying to find the time. I tried to upload photos, but they are too big and were rejected. I will try to reduce the sizes and give it a whirl some other time.

Thank you so much for giving us an update. Of course, we would love to see the picture!!

Some people seem to be able to post pictures with ease, and some of us just take a bit more so kudos for keeping trying! Like I said, it took me about a year of trying and frustration. As mentioned before, part of it for me was my old school digital camera. And then some of it was my browser protections not allowing popups for the attachment screen. And then part of it was I don't know what, but I tried this and that and it didn't work... I do use a desktop with Firefox.

In case you don't succeed, I will volunteer to post the image -- sending you a pm.
