Hi! My name is Dana Clark and I am a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Madison High School, Madison, Ohio. I am very interested in quilting for myself but also teaching quilting. I am the only FCS teacher left at MHS due to budget cuts and I really want to show how quilting and geometry are inter-related. Looking for pictures of quilts for display.
This summer I complete a 10 minute block quilt...easy, fun, and very cute. ;-) |

Hi Dana. Welcome from MO. If you check on the picture you will see lots quilts.
|
Sounds like a great project. Finishing a quilt, even a small one, gives kids a feeling of accomplishment (judging by my granddaughter) and you willl probably be surprised at the creativity that bursts forth. Tessellations are one good idea.

Hello and Welcome to the board from North Carolina :)

Welcome from Ind. Don't have any quilts on the board to show you because I haven't learned to post pictures yet, but I want to tell you that plane geometry was the best quilting class I ever had, although I didn't know it at the time. Unfortunately, I have forgotten most of the terminology, but I can replicate almost geometric designs and make blocks to sizes that please me. Easy to figure yardages. Best of luck to you, I hope you find lots of would-be quiltmakers in your classes.
