Hi, im Steffi from Germany. I live with my dear husband Michael in the northwestern part of it, near the Dutch border, in a small town surrounded by green fields and woods.
I´m quilting for around 15 nears now, and for at least 10 years I´m collecting 30s reproduction fabrics. These are my favorites, and most of my quilts are made out of them. I love sewing and quilting by hand in the good old-fashioned way, but I just bought a quilting foot for my sewing machine and want to do a little machine work, too. At the moment I´m working at a Grandmother´s Flower Garden top in lavender shades, and finally the end is in sight. Come visit my blog if you want, there are pictures of it.:D I also like to work with selvages and made one quilt top so far. Another interest is my dolls house, and so I made some small quilts in 1/10th scale using paper piecing. |

Hello and welcome from an Iowa girl! I'm a great granddaughter of Bavarian immigrants. DH and I took a train ride from Zurich to Arnhem several years ago. Just lovely, was so interesting to watch the architecture change from Swiss to German to Dutch on the way and castles up on the high points overlooking the Rhine.
Have you checked out the Paper Piecing virtual section as well as the Miniature? Most of the Miniatures there are actually small quilts and not true 1/10th scale. Enjoy your time here!! |

Hello and welcome from St. Paul,Minnesota. We are the state above Iowa and to the left of Wisconsin.
I have a friend from Wertheim and our family is from the Amana Colonies in Iowa (originally from Germany until they emigrated to the US in 1850's) They make the best Piestengel, Kater Bohnen and Rot Kraut. I have the ingredients growing in the garden for Kater Bohnen. Love it! Again, welcome and to be totally honest, we are a good lot of people and will help you if you need it, wrap our cyber-arms around you if you need it and will even make you laugh if you need it.
