LOVE YOUR QUILT - I LIVE IN KING, NC NOT TOO FAR FROM WINSTON-SALEM. I'M JUST IN THE BEGINNING STAGE, HAVE NEVER MADE A QUILT BUT HAVE LOADS OF VINTAGE HANKIES THAT I WOULD LOVE TO USE FOR A QUILT. HAVE YOU EVER MADE ONE WITH HANKIES?

You came to the right place! Welcome, from VA.

Somewhere I have a pattern to make butterflys out of hankies. I have also seen a pattern to use hankies for the skirts on spanish ladies. I saw it at AQS in Paduach several years ago. The vender had sold out.
I also have a book about making the hankies into quilts to frame. Will have to dig that one out. Can't remember the name right off the bat. btw, I'm in Cameron. Ever heard of it? |
