Hello: My name is creative 128. I started quilting in 1999 and I have made 6 quilts ( 1-twin, 2-full, 2queen and 1 king). all my quilts was made from scraps of leftover fabrics and old cloths. I am now ready to try a wall hanging. Also in the process of completing 2- more scraps quilts/ I am a registered nurse, married with a pre-teen son and a 22-year-old daughter and a great husband

My name is Debbie and I love to sew and quilt my problem is I have too many UFO's (unfinished objects). I keep telling myself that I will only buy items to finish my UFO's but it never happens that way (ROFL). I live in Wisconsin and have one cat.

You started quilting this year? Me too. I have sewn for about 30 years but just started to qiult out of curiousity and seeing if I could. I have seen many beautiful quilts in my life and now it is my turn to make them. Nice talking to you.

I'm also interested in scrap quilts, what patterns did you use? I'm looking for a good way to use scraps. I haven't been quilting long enough to have that creative touch with fabric.

Hello Penny B: I got the idea for a simple pattern at about.com website. there is a pattern where you use 8.5x11.5 white paper and you ser on strips of fabrics. It is easy to complete and a great way for all your blocks to be the same size. I also use crazy quilts pattern. I don't use the paper foundation anymore, I use old sheets and muslin as the foundation.

Thanks for the tip about the Elenor Burns book, I'll put it on my Christmas wish list.
I've got the fabric, all I need now is the time, perhaps after the holidays.

Hi Penny, The traditional Log Cabin pattern is great for the 30's fabric and set each block together with a Star cornerstone. The first center piece could be the traditional Turkey Red solid material. It could also have the scrappy look with the 30's fabric. Good Luck! Ann in GA
