Welcome from the Sunshine State. If you can do paper piecing you can do the regular piecing. I had a hard time at first with my paper pieced project, it was hard for me to wrap my mind around. It turned out great and I'm going to try it again sometime after I finished the projects I've got going now.the people here can help you with any problems you may encounter. They are a great bunch. We love to see your stuff too.

Hi from Minnesota - I would love to do paper piecing but I am nervous to try it - i've tried foundation piecing and like that a lot so I'm sure I would do fine with the paper! Welcome!!

Welcome, just work at your own speed and keep practicing. The more you learn and try things the more comfortable you will be. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, even big mistakes. It's just a little material and thread. I haven't paper pieced yet, but will be attempting to soon, as I am making a challenge piece that requires paper piecing. I'll keep you in mind for some tips., eh?

Welcome aboard happy Quilting :D |
Paper piecing is so easy. You should take a little class or have someone show you how. I learned it in about 1/2 an hour. I posted one on here somewhere that was filled with bird houses. The bottom was appliqued with a fence and some flowers. I'm sure some of you saw it on somewhere.
The first rule is to get a quarter inch ruler. make sure you start on #1 and go to 2 ect. Don't skip any numbers or piece out of order or you'll have a mess. When I get a little free time I have a Mariners Compass I'm gonna paper piece. It's gonna be a while before I have time though. If you go to google and search for paper piecing quilt tutorials you'll find a lot of sites to look at. You might come across one on you-tube. I find a lot of quilting tutorials on there. |
