Hi Everyone!

What a great site this is with a wealth of information. Thanks so much to founder and hosts. I live in Northern California in a little town called Bella Vista which is on the outskirts of Redding, Ca. I am a retired postmaster adjusting to retirement as I have found I miss being part of the working community.

I have worked in the garment industry years ago doing piece work when my children were small. I was able to sew (and supplement our income) using my own industrial sewing machine which was set up in a spare bedroom. Any sewing I've done in the past did not require the precision as does quilting. I was humbled as I worked on my first quilt block last month.

My awe and respect to all you quilters who silently are working away making your creations.

Have a wonderful day.
Althea (Blisterful)

Welcome - I have a brother living in Redding, CA. What kind of quilting do you do?

GrannieSharon 02-17-2011 10:59 AM

I'm new here too!! I live in Atlanta, GA where it's 72 this afternoon and only the second day this year I've had the top down on the convertible.

I've been quilting since I was very young and that's a long time ago. After owning a quilt shop for a number of years, my stash is extensive and I am now concentrating on scrap quilts to reduce it a bit!

Which shop? Sew What or Sew Simple? Or, maybe you went shopping in somewhere unbeknownst to me.
