Welcome from Florida! If one method of binding doesn't work for you, try another. You can use a "birthing" method and have no bias to worry about. Another option is to make the back extra wide, so it can be folded and sewn directly to the front.
If you want a separate binding and do not have a scalloped or curved edge, you may find a straight edged binding has less stretch, especially if you starch the dickens out of it before you attach it. |
