I have been reading the boards for a few weeks. Thanks so much to everyone who has shared pictures of their wonderful quilting projects. I love to start new projects, just have problems with the finishing aspects. I have quilt tops all waiting to be made into sandwichs and quilted. Even though I have taken 3 free motion quilting classes I just freeze when I think of ruining a top by trying to quilt it myself.

Welcome from Ft. Gratiot Michigan. Life's about taking chances. Keep practicing and then start on a smaller quilt--like a baby or lap quilt.

Practice on scraps and then small projects. We all had to start somewhere. The quilts that I made last year are not a nice as I can do now, but they are loved. Maybe do a charity quilt or a gift and see how others appreciate your work. We are our own worst critic. The only way you will get better is to practice. Welcome and let us know how you're doing.

Hi and welcome from BC! You're at the right place for lots of encouragement. I've done a little FMQ (mostly meandering) and then shocked myself last week by doing something a little more complicated. I just kept practicing and it seems like suddenly it just clicked. Start with something small and keep trying :)

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! This board is wonderful, I can't get over all the information people have shared.
