Does that mean the quilt police can actually bring us quilters to court and you determine our fine for mistakes in our quilts? LOL I think your expertise will help a lot of us, especially if we want to enter a challenge, etc. Welcome and so glad you joined. |
Speaking as a quilt judge, what is your take on the magazines and designers, etc claiming long-time public domain quilt blocks and "designing" derivative works (which they say 'we' can't do without THEIR permission), and then stating that we have to ask permission to show their derivative quilts made with public domain blocks??

Welcome from North Central PA.
I don't think I will ever be brave enough to enter a show, but I would certainly be elated to hear any tips you have on improving my quilting. I just bought a Juki on a frame and while not a longarm, I am sure some of the nifty tips you could provide would be of much help to me just starting out on the frame type quilting. Besides all of the questions I am sure you will be showered with, this is a very supportive group of folks in every way. Sew glad you could join us. And don't forget we love pics! ;-) |

Another welcome from Louisiana. I'm still making squares & rectangles quilts. I'm learning my way up to show quality. At the rate I am going, will take several more years. It's great having you here.
A lot of us would appreciate a critique of longarms & what an experienced person likes & dislikes about the different ones. Hope you have time to start a conversation thread like that. Ay-eeee as they say down here. |
