I am now exploring the idea of using a quilt frame (of some variety) that will allow me to get my 3 layers together without a lot of wrinkles
If you have a high-speed Internet connection, you can go to www.thequiltshow.com & watch the first "The Quilt Show" with Alex Anderson & Ricky Tims. It is free (this first one), & one of their guests is Joe Cunningham & he shows how to make an old fashioned, simple quilt frame using 1"X2"s & C-clamps. They said that you can use it for basting, with thread or pins, as well as hand quilting. It did look easy to me!

Hi Vicky.. I have never made, but always wanted to try a tied quilt. You make it sound so easy. I still consider myself a beginner when it comes to quilting. Gee, you are loosing your Ben Franklin..... where you are? How sad. I have one here about three blocks from me. I love it! Not only for the quilting merchandise but the gifty items etc. Sorry for your loss.

Hi Judy. Just let me add a warm welcome also. I am still fairly new to the board and it is nice to be part of the family.

I use a pvc quilt frame, works well for me, it is large enough for two people to sit at it, it is nice if your space is limited. It works like the small hand held pvc frames. When I bought mine, several years ago, it was $60. Hancocks have carried them, not sure if they do now, but think so. (If you have a cat, cover it when you are not using it, makes a great place to sleep).
