Hello friends, I'm not a bag maker but I fell in love with these. Your thoughts?
I especially like the bottom one that's boxy.
TIA

They are both beautiful and worth making. I am not a bag or box maker but these are sure very pretty.

They are very pretty and looks like fun to make. I feel they would be fairly easy to make. I am sure the pattern will give you good step by step instructions. good luck and please share pictures with us if you do decide to make some.

This reminds me of the placemat bag I noticed during Christmas when I was looking for a quick project. You could make your own quilted placemat.

The bag is cute. I would say it a more advanced sewing pattern. I don't get the binding hanging off around the edges. The binding edge should be sewn so it is flat against the seam. There are different ways to achieve it.

Here is a free one you might like to try first. I have done other projects using these place-mats.

Lots of help here too.

To be honest... not that easy. There is a zipper, a foam interfacing so probably a lining as well, and all that binding. Totally doable if you have made bags before, but it's not going to be quick and easy.

Hope you make it... would love to see!

SBG- Yup, I had that feeling!!! I think I'm going to pass on it!

Thanks to everyone. I'm going to check out those other links. I'm really not too good with zippers etc.

I just made this one and it was super fun and the class is free on Bluprint thru April 16th, no zippers and I'm already using it to store fabric in my house

I have seen McCall's pattern company with a storage bag case similar to this. Actually, most all of the major pattern manufacturers will have something similar. And , a bonus, many have lots of different little accessories to make as well. Like a multi-pattern packet thing. I made one like yours years ago and it also had a jewelry hanging travel bag and a shoe bag and a nylons or undergarment bag to match. All for traveling to organize your suitcase.

All that being said, you can buy cute ready made organizers fairly inexpensively on ebay or amazon.
