Dresden plate template
Sistersofthedivide.blogspot.com has an Interesting wayto use the Zimmerman Dresden plate plastic template--call it hummingbird block. The first one I saw was thru Pinterest, and it was template and pp, but when I went to actual site and under tutorials - hummingbird block, it's just regular piecing. Somewhere on that site, I can't find it, must have been an old post onto pinterest, there is, or should be the pp version. But it's a new use for template.....

Try - Dresden ruler tutorial squares and triangles - on the sisterofthedivide.blogspot.com. I think that will give tute on pp technique....its from her 2014 tutes....or tutes and inspiration. Some of these blogs can get quite confusing...

Maggie Ball has a video here that shows a similar block without a special ruler. Her pieces are different in dimension, but once you see how she makes her cuts, you could adjust accordingly:
