I just finished a quilt with the serpentine stitch. It is the second time I've done that and I really like it. As Tartan pointed out, it solves the problem of staying in the ditch - I wasn't doing SITD, but it does cover a certain amount of 'wandering' off the straight and narrow. Besides, it is a pretty stitch.

i've got the serpentine on my inexpensive walmart Brother. the first time i tried it, it pulled the fabric up too much. i'm sure, when i have time, i can play with the tensions to get it to work right.
