I'm using Stitch Era Universal. I did not use the download, but I know it's there. I ordered the disk (paid for shipping only) because it included the manual and video tutorials.

You can down load it from a dealer's website but if you order the free disk (pay for shipping) you'll get the software plus training videos and printable lessons.

Just wanted to share.
Question? It says:
permanent internet connection required
Does that mean you can't shut the computer down?

No, it means the program resides on their servers, you are only using it. You do not actually install the files to run the program on your computer. If you do not have an internet connection, you have no program. It says "permanent" because you must have the program open, on line, all the time you are working with it.

I downloaded Stitch Era with no problems. Came with all kinds of extras so I think same as getting CD. May check out the postage for the cd just in case but seriously now don't think I need it. Thanks for the Great Link!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also found video tutorials for Stitch Era but they're in French. Doesn't matter to me, I just write down the steps, pausing video as needed. If anyone is interested I'll post the links.

I have so many free downloaded designs that I think I will likely never get around to using this program...which I have downloaded.

Well I did get this program downloaded and when I click on the icon on the desk top it freezes up my computer. I have tried to uninstall the program and it won't uninstall. Now today I've gotten an email by my internet supplier Comcast saying I have a virus. Can anyone help me out and getting rid of this program. I don't have restore on my computer, I didn't realize it was shut off or I could do that. Beware if you are wanting to download.
