What great kits, if I hadn't spent hours last night empting plastic bags from shopping excursions and putting goodies away, I would jump on those and what super prices.....

I can't decide if I should chance waiting or go on and pay shipping...or which one to buy for that matter!

quite a bargain. But don't know if I will take it up. I am overrun with fabric as it is.

Not sure where I got the pattern. I ordered it online a couple of years ago, along with a couple of other Gee's Bend patterns. If I recall, the story was that the patterns were being discontinued and fearing I would miss out, I ordered them. I immediately set about to get the fabric for Strips and Strings and made the quilt I pictured. I believe this pattern is available still in the kit but it runs about $70-80.

I did use the fabric suggested - the Gee's Bend fabrics and colors, however, this would be very cool in Hoffman Watercolor batiks as well.

I don't know if you have shopped there before or not...it's a great store! We are lucky enough to have 3 stores locally, and I am never disappointed in their selection, though it is always different. Basically, if you see something you want and it's a good deal, you have to snag it. It probably won't be there when you go back.

I got my kit today. It got here sooner than tracking said it was due for delivery. The fabrics are very nice, a little mottled as hand dyed fabrics are. The thing that strikes me most is how tightly woven it is...sort of like batik. I'm going to get it washed up and ready for piecing--probably after Derby since we have family coming from out of state. I hope everyone else is as pleased with their kits as I am!

Thanks for the link. I ordered one. I didn't think the shipping was too bad considering the cost of gas. Probably won't get it done until I retire - In a year!!!

I'm glad I didn't wait! Went to one of my stores today and they didn't get any of these kits. Aren't the fabrics great?

Which one did you order? Considering it's smaller and there aren't any hard and fast rules, it should be an easy project to knock out! (At least that's what I'm telling myself....)

I ordered the 9 block kit. Can't wait to get it. I will probably make it us soon as I think the patterns are neat and again have a bit of history behind them.
