Yes, for ROKU you need to purchase a device that connects to your TV. It allows your TV to become a "smart" TV (stream things). I have an Amazon Prime membership so this allowed my TV to stream the things from there. This alone justified the cost, however there are other things that make it worthwhile (netflix, hulu, etc) Can't give up my cable since I do watch the prime channels

I tried Roku....it was impossible to get the connection to Time Warner, our cable/internet provider, so I gave up....over four hours on Roku telephone support and just about the same with Time Warner. It wasn't a problem with Roku, but with our internet service provider - Time Warner. I'm sure Time Warner does this on purpose to insure I don't cut their paid services in favor of Roku. Anyone else have an issue like this? I'd love to hear if there is a solution I can employ.

You can buy Roku at Walmart. I have one on every tv in the house. The more expensive Roku player streams faster, I think it was $90. I don't have the stick so don't know how they are. Here is all the info:https://www.roku.com/

I have the Roku stick. I love it. We already had Netflix and got 3 mos of Hulu free. PBS is free. I get to watch Sewing with Nancy which still provides current shows. You can watch YouTube on your tv while sewing. The Roku stick is about $40 and well worth it. I have AT&T internet and had no problem with connection. I also downloaded the remote app to my phone so if I can't find my remote, I simple use my phone.

If you have wireless internet there is no reason not to have a Roku. No monthly fees unless you want prime channels. Hundreds of free channels to choose from.
roku has free channels, hmmm may have to look into that

Sometimes I have turn off and unplug my wireless router to get it to connect. This re-sets it and it will work after I do this. Once the wireless router is working the roku fires up.

Here in the UK we do have a show called create and craft but it is not just sewing, in fact it is mainly card making equipment and occasionally some knitting. The show runs from about 7 in the morning to 6 in the evening but as I said earlier there is very little sewing content. However there is a website called the same as the show and this features all the products shown on the show and more. I personally think the products are quite expensive because the prices shown do not factor in postage costs and to the USA I'm sure the carrier cost will be great. Hope you don't think I'm being too pessimistic. UOTE=thrums;7148438]Is the show from the UK?[/QUOTE]
