Default How Modern Stamped Batiks are Made By Hand

While searching for a RK batik, I came across the designers of so many of the RK batiks. I found this very interesting showing photos step by step on how batiks are made and wanted to share it.

Enjoy!

I wonder what the wages of those laborers are.......where is the original fabric (white goods) milled? Wonder how much yardage is produced daily---

Thanks for sharing this article! I've seen videos of the batik producing process, but I enjoyed the still life photos and commentary equally as well. I'm with Geri B. -- I wondered how much these laborers make? I'm sure it couldn't be very much for the back-breaking work they do mostly in the blazing sun!

WOW. After seeing this I will never again complain about how much these beautiful batiks cost.

With the hand labor involved, I'm just happy they don't cost way more. I'm thinking the workers aren't paid as well as in the US. If it was made here we couldn't afford a square inch. Batiks are my go-to fabrics and I have to tear myself away from them in stores. I pet them there and those I have at home and hate to use them because when they're gone they're gone and can never be reproduced exactly. Besides you can use either side!!!
