I don't like all that white either. But how about making the tumbler larger or cutting the background piece smaller before sewing. (Cut from yardage.) A good project on which to experiment.

You could make any color background depending upon what type of charm pack you use for the tumblers. I'm going to make one but it surely will not be white... I have not jumped on that all-white modern bandwagon yet!

Hum, maybe a new use for those string blocks (tumblers), of course I'd go a step further and cut the back away from the tumblers. I'd also start with 8 ibch blocks.
