While rereading the directions, if you want variable size stars, you can cut your background squares bigger than your center star...Someone also mentioned that it is somewhat like the ten minute block, and I believe they are correct....this is soooo cool.....Thanks bunches for the tutorial...it all makes sense now. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

It reminds of a paper-pieced block. The construction is different tho.

We made this quilt as a project at our quilt club. We all used the same back ground material and we each made the raised star with our own material. It turned out great and was fun.
