Where can I find the resources for my own quilt layout? I'm looking for an app or something with a graph(paper) that I can use to get correct dimensions and convert to amount of material needed.

Welcome to the quiltingboard forum from Texas!
I don't know anything at all about apps for making quilts but I do know that there are some free ones (with limited capabilities) out there. I did a quick search & found this site that tells a bit about some free ones. Like I said, I know nothing about them so I cannot recommend any but I know other quilters on this board will have better information than I can bring to the table.

I use the program called EQ8. After all these years, I finally took online lessons to get a better grip on how to use the program. I can convert a rotary cut type pattern into a paper pieced pattern, add my own fabrics into the program, change sizes of the block, quilt, etc. I can even design my own block. I can print out a rendition of what the quilt might look like, print out just one block, print out the amount for each fabric and it tells me how many pieces that particular fabric should have. It's a great program and I wish I had taken the online lessons sooner than I did.

welcome to the board. Graph paper is cheap, and many here still use it.
current quilt design software for your computer. https://quiltdom.com/quilt-design-software/ Learning curve involved!

I have used excel in the past. I changed the cell size to small squares of equal width and height then used different fill colors to simulate different fabrics. only works with squares, but that's all I needed it for. I needed to figure out a layout that included squares of multiple different sizes laid out together. I considered each square as 2 inches. I also have EQ8, which is useful for more complex blocks.
