I make 8 HST's at a time...if you need 1 1/ 2 inch finished sq. Start by multiplying 2 (1 1/2+1 1/2) is 3..add 1 in. for ease in squaring up....so you would need a 4 in. sq. of two fabrics..lay with right sides together. now crease the sq. in half both up & across(this will be a..sew cutting line)...now mark the sq. from corner to corner bothways..this is the cutting line...now sew your skimpy quarter in. seam on both sides of line...you will be sewing 4 seams...now cut ..first the creased lines - then the marked lines...now press-square up...you have 8 HST's-a much faster way for me.
