We teach this to our beginning 4-Hers. But, we don't fold the triangles first. Instead the fold the fabric into rectangles and make staggered layers of calico that are then stitched onto the fold lines on the muslin. The stitching line holds down the fabrics and then we fold them down and toward the stitching line.
