Quilting Aggi 04-15-2008 06:04 AM

still no update to the next step.. Just checked the website a moment ago... sigh.. I'm anxious to start the next part!!!

DonnaRae 04-15-2008 06:52 AM

Shelly, those are awesome! Blah I am still not done. Finally had the tooth pulled this morning. Couldnt do anything yesterday, was in too much pain. I have to finish today! I started this thing and all of you are way ahead of me. Shame on me :(   :? :D Later all!

imaquilter 04-15-2008 08:20 AM

Don't worry DonnaRae, I have not even started mine yet!!!

Quilting Aggi 04-15-2008 09:28 AM

hope you are feeling better soon DonnaRae... You will be on your feet in no time!! You will have your blocks made before you know it :)

DonnaRae 04-15-2008 04:18 PM

Thanks Aggi, Well I sewed my four patches and when I got all finished found out my bobbin thread was messed up. I did not know untill I was done because of course it is on the bottom side and the top looked fine. What a mess, so all I did was just sew them again. I did not take out the bad stitches unless they were loose. Don't think it will be noticeable. But fed up with it today, so I will iron tomorrow. Good Night all, (even though it is only 8:20) :D

ShellyQ 04-16-2008 12:28 AM

Hope you're feeling betta Donna, there is nothing worse than a bad tooth, now that it's out things can only get betta, hang in there

Knot Sew 04-16-2008 03:39 AM

From what I read on the quiltvile chat the next part was supposed to be out the 15th............They seem to think it has something to do with copyrights for her books.

Quilting Aggi 04-16-2008 05:03 AM

I sent an email to Bonnie this morning to find out when the next step will be ready. She replied to me just a couple moments ago.. she said "I will upload the instructions by TONIGHT come heck or high water!!"

can't WAIT can't WAIT!

Quilting Aggi 04-16-2008 05:18 AM

just received another message from Bonnie. I asked her about my colours I used and showed her a photo. I told her about a focal fabric I had in mine that had a little print to it. She came back to tell me that we will be doing all the scrappy units first before working with the focal fabrics. So we have lots of time yet to determine if the focal fabrics we want to use for our quilts will work or not!!! hee hee nice little tip there!

Cheers

DonnaRae 04-16-2008 07:40 AM

Good going Aggi, I am glad to hear about the focal fabric. I had not made up my mind so now for sure I know I can wait. I have a couple of fabrics I don't think I will use for anything else. Not my fav. fabrics, but I want the project to look good. Just figure for my first mystery I am not going to use my favorite fabrics. I am ranting. Bye

Thanks Shelly, I have two more to go though. Will be pulled May 7th, Xrays show that the roots are cracking causeing infection. These are root canal teeth. Can you imagine. All the money I put into my teeth now they have to go. Pooey! Oh well off to iron! Aggi says Bonnie said tonight the next step will be. Don't want to be too much behind.

mary705 04-16-2008 08:43 AM

Just saw an email stating part 2 is up

http://quiltville.com/orangecrushmystery2.shtml

DonnaRae 04-16-2008 08:58 AM

Thanks Mary for the news! Well step two looks interesting. I just happen to have the Angler 2 ruler. I have never used it so at least it will get some use. But she does say you don't have to have one which is good. I just happen to have one because I found it clearenced for a couple of dollars. Whenever I see something like that I pice it up. I got lucky. Okay back to the iron board obviously the least favorite of sewing besides backward sewing (seam ripper). Ta ta all.

Quilting Aggi 04-16-2008 09:20 AM

woooooo hooo.. just printed off the instructions.. they the cutting begin AGAIN!! LOL I"m starting after supper tonight :)

Happy cutting and piecing!!

Cheers

PamH 04-16-2008 09:26 AM

Ready set go!!! Yea part 2 is finally here.

mary705 04-16-2008 10:03 AM

I've also got the ruler and have starting cuttin, since I don't have any 3 1/2" strips. i keep forgetting I have the ruler, and it does make things so much easier, I think I had a 50% off coupon when I got mine.

Quilting Aggi 04-16-2008 10:44 AM

I don't have one of those rulers, but thats okay... I don't mind going the old fashion route!!! Only 10 minutes to the end of the work day then Aggi gets to play :)

PamH 04-16-2008 11:15 AM

I got one the rulers a while back, but never have used it. I guess this is when i get to get in a little practice. and boy do I need that.

I just went down to Joanns 5 min away, and all rulers 50% off so I have one for 3 dollars. I think I am finding that scrap quilts take a lot of cutting unless you have bins of this stuff. I never have a lot of scraps as all my grandkids like to fool around and create when they come and anything in the bin is fair game. I just cleaned by sewing room and took everthing smaller than a quarter yard and dumped it in, so I guess I better get it before they do.

Quilting Aggi 04-17-2008 03:19 AM

I had a great productive night last night working on Step #2. I have all my pieces cut and started sewing them. I have the square and one small light triangle sewn to all 142 blocks so far. Over the weekend I hope to have them finished!!! wooo hoooooooooooo!!!

PamH 04-17-2008 04:20 AM

Way to go Aggi
I'll be doing good to even start by the weekend. I'm babysiting for GD, a job ---honor ---I do love to do

QuiltingTurtle 04-17-2008 05:24 AM

I won't even get started til this weekend. Do many of you have small children? I only have one, but he is 6 and he is somehow always wanting something when I get 5 minutes to sew.

Knot Sew 04-17-2008 05:27 AM

I have a 15 year old granson living with me.......get used to it they don't change..........lol

tlrnhi 04-17-2008 05:29 AM

You say that like you get to go to the bathroom alone! LOL

When mine were small I was running a home daycare so I didn't have to go back to work in an office. Try going to the bathroom with 6 or 10 kids loose in the house!

PamH 04-17-2008 05:47 AM

My daughters are grown, but i do have 6 granddaughters would are very helpful (LOL) when they are up.

And it does not change, when it comes to going to the bathroom by yourself, when you have grandkids.

It's like party time - grandma's in the bathroom, they all have to come in and sit on the side of the tub and talk to you.

DonnaRae 04-17-2008 06:38 AM

No kids here except my DH, and that is a big one :D Okay, I posted my pictures of blocks and no one said anything. Don't be shy if they are ugly say so! I will make new. NOT!

Quilting Aggi 04-17-2008 07:05 AM
