I had only recently started my Modern Patchwork subscription--got 2 issues I think. Already was taking Quiltmaker (I particularly like that they give detailed ideas on quilting, include EQ8 ways you can change up many of the patterns and also usually have at least one that they give directions on using Accuquilt too) so when they dropped MP, I got the Quiltmaker extended--so if it makes it I'll be getting it forever almost.
But I was disappointed as I'd recently dropped my McCalls, and was wanting a more modern quilt mag--now I'm getting American Patchwork (price just too darn low on an offer); Quiltmaker and Today's Quilting (one from the UK)
Wish there was a good modern one and a good machine quilting one, too.

I was very bummed out when Machine Quilting Unlimited was discontinued. That was a wonderful magazine. :(

Thank you for your comments! Now I’m really looking forward to my Quiltmaker Magazine :). I was also wanting a Modern Quilt focused magazine, hence my disappointment. However, there is a digital magazine I’ve been on the fence about subscribing to called Make Modern which I believe is out of Australia. I follow them on Instagram and am keeping an eye on their postings ;). I have a couple of digital magazines I purchased from other publishers, but I haven’t been able to print patterns that they have in them, which kind of frustrates me, so I’m still on the fence. I think I should just try buying one issue of Make Modern and assess. Maybe it’s something we’d both enjoy :).

Consider yourself lucky Kwilter. About 6 years ago I subscribed to Quilt-It Magazine and Sew-it Magazine. After receiving one issue the company closed and I had just paid for a year for both magazines. No letter or refund or replacement magazine were offered and calls to them were not returned.

I do, indeed! Really, for the price they charge for some of these subscriptions vs the newsstand price, it’s no wonder they struggle. I find the newsstand pricing has made the magazines almost unaffordable, or at least a poor choice for print material value considering the cost of say a quilting book without the advertising.

you would think, especially if they are still in the publishing business, otherwise I expect they don’t have the funds left to do that.

If you are looking for modern, check out the QuiltCon mags--one per year (boohoo) showing the quilts from that years show and even some patterns. Plus I've recently bought a copy of Simply Moderne (from France)--pretty pricey so won't be getting it often--but a real treat. I do realize that online stuff is overwhelming print mags, but I really wish there was a long arm magazine. I cringe at the price of the mags in the stores, but when you think that there's maybe 2-3 quilts in each mag that you 'Might" make and the cost of patterns purchased separately are about $10/each, magazines aren't that costly when you subscribe..

Sorry this happened to you. Thank you for mentioning it - I was also wondering why I hadn't seen it in awhile.

Ive been sitting on the fence on subscribing to Make Modern. Have you subscribed too it? Curious on your thoughts about content.
