That's a great story! I also like to buy UFO's at the country stores, I have made adorable quilts by adding a block or two or I have simply gave up trying to figure out what the project was, still I loved the research, thanks for sharing, the quilt looks amazing

Not only did I enjoy the story but sat at this computer for an hour enjoying the crazy photos of "bordedpanda". Thank you for finding this --just what we need is another way to waste time! Joking as it was really interesting and I will probably try this again many times.

What a great story! I am a member of a hand quilting group and we have one member who will be 100 in December. She is a Red work artist and the most joyful person I know. She is the role model of our group and I have to say she is still doing new projects! God bless all who work on Rita’s quilt and especially the woman who rescued it.

Figured this community could appreciate it!
I am another one who has to finish others' projects. I just made four large throw quilts from a stack of squares less than a foot tall. Very many of the squares had been made into pinwheels about 14 inches square. I made them into Disappearing Pinwheel No. 5's and one is a Disappearing Pinwheel No 6. I don't think Jenny knows about that one, but it was a mistake in the first place and, with the help of a friend, turned out to be something amazing .

So lovely! I have the iron on transfers for the states and flowers - have had it for over 45 years so doubt that I will ever make it but can't seem to give it to a thrift store either.
