Yes, such a major part it played in the history of quilting magazines. Such a sad ending probably because so many quilting patterns and quilts are now easily found on the internet.

Sorry to hear this. I used to wait with baited breath for the next issue to come when I first started quilting. What a great contribution to the revival of quilting after the Bicentennial in 1976.

Glad I did not renew this magazine. Love it but hate getting burned on speciality magazines as they stop production. Not the first time I have been burned!

I think times are tough in general for print magazines. They need to boost circulation to make money off ads. I currently get O, Good Housekeeping, Cosmo, Taste of Home, and Redbook, all free. Even free subscriptions get the numbers up. I get Family Circle as a digital subscription and don't like the digital format at all.

QNM was always the best and it has been around for so long. I bet people with back issue collections will value them that much more now.

Same here, Skhf! Been there, done that! This was the first quilting magazine I subscribed to, & I once had every issue from Issue #1. It's changed over the years though, & lost its appeal for me. However, I am sorry it will no longer be published.

In this lecture Al Doan gave at the Marriott School of Management he describes how MSQC came to publish their Block magazine. (It's at about 20 minutes.) The magazine has no ads and seems to be very successful. I found the whole lecture quite interesting. Al has a different approach to marketing and it looks like it's working for Missouri Star.

I decided I wanted to subscribe to a magazine again and had just decided that QNM would be the one. Glad I didn't do it. They are still offering magazine subs on their web site!

Where is the announcement?

Every time I renew my subscriptions to various magazines (be they quilting ones or others), I wonder if they'll still be printing them by the time my subscription runs out! It's so sad to see these "institutions" of American life go by the wayside!

The older issues were the best quilt magazines published. Then magazine changed to be a shell of itself. I lost interest in it a long time ago.
