I love the pattern. I would never consider this as easy but am tempted to order the pattern just to see how they might have written it so that it is not as complex as I know it to be. If I do, I will update after receiving.

Edited to add: The pattern does say Advanced Beginner.

Would have to put me in a rubber room so I wouldn't hurt myself.

Wow!

It looks like it's primarily squares and rectangles so the 'sewing' part seems like it might be OK, but keeping all those pieces straight would drive me bonkers!

Believing it's either easy or for an advanced beginner is the real illusion here.

A guild member made a quilt with the bulging center. She said she wove and fused it then quilted it to hold it together. It was red and white and made everyone dizzy.

My guess is, after having done something similar, is that this is all strip pieced like a bargello quilt. Take a look at the center which is a big bargello square on point. Then the outside is another bunch of strips, and so on. Although easy isn't what I would label it, when you consider it from a certain point of view, it is a simple bit of cutting strips sewing them together, cutting them again and then doing the bargello dance. Of course that alone can make me crazy.

All in all, it's such a cool looking quilt. My kids (all adults now), would love this.
