Cotton! Quilting fabric works perfectly and so does home furnishing fabrics, if it's cotton. Cut off the old cover's string and casing and just sew it onto fabric you like! Or if you're really busy (that's Southern for "lazy"!) like me, just put new fabric right on top of the old cover!

Yes, I've had mine for quite a few years and love it. The only problem is that I haven't been able to find covers for the board so have had to make mine. So when yours wears out, don't throw it away, use it as a pattern for the new one you're going to make. If anyone finds covers, please let me know where.

I looked at the Walmart site online and they have one but it's $259. You must have hit a really good sale!

Must be a much fancier one Kathleen. I am going to Walmart today and I will look to see if they still have the ironing board like the one I purchased and post the model number.
