    I love my bendable light. Mine is not battery powered.

    There's a circular base, about the size of a 50 cent piece, that you stick on your machine. then the light clips into that. You can get extra bases. I don't think that I would use this on the painted surface of your featherweight. All my machines are gen-u-wine plastic! Also, the cord is really long and thin. You should not have any problem of positioning it where it's out of the way.

    Just get the extra set of cord holders and the light plate. That is what I did and it is great.
