Question 505 basting spray

I just made a fairly large order for 505 basting spray. 8 - 11.7 oz cans for $95.00, free shipping. I looked and looked for the best deal with no shipping. How much is in the 11.7 oz can, most sights give you 2 amounts.I'm hoping this isn't really a 5.6 oz in product. Anyway what's done is done. I just hope I invested wisely! That comes to almost $12.00 a can. I just keep stewing about it wondering if I spent a reasonable amount. Any thoughts!

I buy a bunch of cans twice a year when Joanne has it for half price. I love 505 spray! I use the elmers for my binding, but 505 for my basting.

Have you considered glue basting? A lot cheaper than 505. I think I can baste 8-10 quilts
with 1 litre of Elmer's School glue. That's $1 per quilt...maybe cheaper if you can buy it
by the gallon. Another bonus with Elmer's is that you don't breathe all those fumes.
Check the tutorials for glue basting.

you got a decent deal. I bought two at my LQS and they were just under $13.00 per can.

That's a great deal - if/whenever I see a large can of 505 for $15 or less I buy/stock up. Do you mind me asking where you found yours at $12 w/free shipping?

I haven't been able to find 505 at my local Joann's, they've only had a different brand of spray basting glue, which smells funny.

Stuff4sewing, free shipping on orders over $100.00, so I bought 8, had a $10,00 discount for signing up for there newsletter. I'm glad it's a good deal, it's a lot to plop down for my addiction!

This is what I do. I buy a bunch for me and all my friends.

You get it at JoAnns.com Not in a store. Mine does not carry it in the store either.

Joanne only sells it on line. I think I paid 6.00 a can when it was half price a few weeks ago.

Can you buy an unlimited amount when it's on sale for 50% at Joanns.com? Jfowles, you might not have gotten it on sale, but you got free shipping and you didn't have to leave your home. I agree with you and a lot of others, I love this stuff and would buy it by the gal. if I could. Saves so much work.
