I want to buy a 60 degree unilateral triangle ruler but would like input on the most practical size to buy. My LQS has a 12" size but it seems too big. I think it also comes in 6" and 8" sizes but am not sure about this. Thank you to everyone in advance for your help, this is the best forum on the 'net.

I have a big one, and continually feel it is cumbersome. If I could find another, I would get a 6 inch one. I have been cutting 3 1/2 inch strips into triangles for one block wonders...

I would like to get it for my one block wonder. I am just gathering up what I will need for it, haven't got the fabric yet either.

Can you get this ruler at JoAnn's or is it a Quilt shop item? Thanks!

I very seldom get a chance to go to Joann's since I live in Canada so I get my LQS to order items I might need that are out of the ordinary. After the mark-up is added to the regular price of any item it can get quite costly so hopefully I will be able to get it when I go to Shipshewana in May. I can always order it on-line but I am afraid it will get broken in the mail.

I purchased one at Joanne's. It is by Fons and Porter. It is sort of big, but I have been using it for the hollow cube blocks. I have an Accuquilt Go and recently purchased a die that has a 3" equilateral on it. So I will be trying it as soon as I can get to it. Have a lot of exchange blocks to do before that one comes up again.

The 6" Clearview one is what I use for OBWs. Don't get the Marti Mitchell one with the points cut off - it's a pain and nearly impossible if you want to do the hollow cubes.
