I started at 72 and made a mess of some patches a neig gave while cleaning out her mother-n-law things. It turned into a crazy quilt. That got me started. Now I won't live long enough to to learn every thing I want to

I'm 71 and just started quilting 3 years ago when I retired. Hubby encouraged me by buying me a new Janome Machine, which I just love. I'm hooked. Just starting to build my stash and trying to figure out what I do with the small pieces that I have left over. I'd like to try a scrap quilt, but I'm obsessed with maching colors and afraid to try it.

Ihave just turned 66 and have been quilting for about a year now. I used to sew after learning from my mom for 4-H but have not sewn for years. I can still spot a 5/8" seam but am learning the 1/4". I fear I don't remember much of the clothes sewing now but maybe when I retire in a few years will learn that again. I started again from my DMIL stash of fabrics as she is in Assisted Care home and I stay at her home during weekends as she lives quite a distance from me. Nothing else to do so took it up! Now I am spending like crazy and ADDING! to her stash!!!! Woe is me!

I was in my middle 70's. Mom told me to start learning 30 years ago. Just a late starter I guess.
