That's wonderful! Mine helps me with patterns, helps pick out fabric, helps with layouts and most importantly helps pay for it all!!!

I can't see my hubby quilting with me. He is always interested in what I am making though. Sometimes he sticks his head in the sewing room to see what I am working on. I think it is great that the two of you quilt together.

A month ago my DH got us a longarm and he is the only one that can thread it correctly so far...now I know his secret...he doesn't do it like the book shows to thread it and tada...it works better and doesn't break the threads. He's a keeper for sure. He wants to learn to do the longarm and is much better and looser than I am.

My DH likes the idea of quilting (he grew up watching his grandmother piece and quilt) but he doesn't like to do it himself. He has a storage box full of fat quarters that he bought so he would make a quilt. He started it last year an vows that "one day" I'm going to work on it again. The problem is that it's not relaxing for him so he enjoys "the idea of quilting" but not the process itself. He's always looking at the quilt I'm working on and telling me what I should have done. When he starts I suggest he could down to the outbuilding and work on the drawers he's making for storage. That usually stops him in his tracks. But as far as us working together on a quilting project? NO WAY

Hubby and I will be married for 37 years in a week or so. He's a wonderful, talented man and a retired finish carpenter. We have built two homes together and remodeled our camp twice. Pure hell being around him then. I stay out of harm's way. I am rather mathematically challenged and ask for his help occasionally with a quilt. Then the spats start again! Unfortunately, I think he is a tiny bit color impaired, but it doesn't stop him from temporarily becoming the quilting police. As long as I stay away from his projects and he does the same for mine, we remain happily married! We're both now, newly retired. This could be challenging. If I can only retain my sense of humor....
