about using old blankets

The quilts that I have finished, five of them have all been sandwhiched with a double layer of a well used flannel flat sheet. I love the feel of the quilt. It isn't thick, but it is warm. I have to be careful b/c some of them aren't easy to hand quilt through. I say go for it, but be cautious about shrinking. Maybe test it first.

I use old mattress pad covers for some of the utlity scrap quilts, and especially if I am making something for the pets! Uses up something I already have, and it certainly is soft! Also use it to test flip and sew techniques! :lol:
