OK, I don't even have my machine yet and I'm already thinking about adding dies.

I'm pretty sure my next acquisition will be one of the rag dies, but I'm torn as to the size.

I'm leaning toward the smaller one - 5 inches or so - instead of the larger 8 inch one.

I was able to see the 8 inch today at Joann's (but would never buy there at full price - I'm cheap and will order online)

What size is most popular? I'm probably going to use it for fleece and flannel baby quilts which leads me to believe the smaller size might be more appropriate...

but im like Bella- i have all of them whether i use them not (hubby gets them for me as gifts)... they are not that expensive and if you check the daily deals its a plus.. also check amazon...

Make sure you have lots of mats on hand...

What size did you end up buying? I bought the 8 inch and the larger ones. the 8 inch one is perfect. My frind bought the smaller one and its just to small for my liking.

A lot of the strip dies sizes for the Go are being retired. Buy those now. I have the 8" rag die, it really makes a smaller size block after it's sewn, mine end up about 6 1/2". One thing I learned. I don't have to clean out the threads on the rag die after each use. I let them stay until they pile up, much easier to remove. No difference in the cutting at all.

I use mostly the squares. I love to do rag quilts so my next one will be for that. Sitting and clipping takes so much time when I could be sewing another quilt. The die snips for you. I love my Accquilt!

I have found that with my Accuquilt master die cutter that the strips are used often, circles, diamonds, unless you are using a lot of a special die, the purchase of any othe die is money left sitting on the shelf. I have many dies that have never had the wrapper off because I have not had a need to use them.. I have the 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 4 1/2" and 6 1/2" strip cutters and did not buy the 5 1/2" strip die as it only had 2 strips to cut not 3 strips to be of better use and the dies cost a lot. I had some dies made for special patterns. I have had my die cutter for over 5 years now and love it, I tried the smaller die cutter but the cover was plastic not acrylic covers that go with the master studio cutter... WATCH THE FINGERS and do not get them caught under the covers for the fabric... my sister did I had to watch her so she did not lose a finger LOL>>>

I really like my Accuquilt GO. I have several dies that I think I will use as I do more quilting. So far I have used the 6 1/2" square and the 2 1/2" strip the most. I have participated in numerous 6 1/2" square swaps and for my own use. I have really saved a lot of time using the GO. I like to make I Spy quilts using 6 1'2" sqs. I have also used the 2 1/2" strip cutter for swaps and for strip quilts that I have made.
Be sure to starch and press your fabric before trying to cut. You will have more success cutting.

Please let me say that I cut the strips and then turn them across the die and cut them into all sizes of squares... you can cut out over 100 to 200 squares at a time depending on the strip size... I cut all my bindings for my quilts on the Studio die cutter also.. circle die makes 4 sizes of circles on the same die, but you can cut only one size at a time by placing fabric over the one size needed.. I also have flowers dies and leaf dies and made a petal quilt king size, appliqued in a Irish chain design. On applique I first iron on "wonder under" first before I cut out the die design, that way all you have to do is peel away the back side and iron it on each block then do a blanket stitch around the design and bingo done... I do this with the Hawaian flower dies. then iron them on the blocks and stitch around them as I quilt it on my quilter (free hand)_

I have the GO.
I was thinking of getting the 4 1/2" die. 4 to a die.
With the 2 1/2 and then some triangles that will add up to 4 1/2 and 2 1/2.
They will all fit together.
I did buy the log cabin die but haven't tried it. Not sure how yet.

I have the log cabin die too, haven't tried it. It will take some planning to use that one.
