Let your creativity flow, you have beautiful blocks to work with. I have been in a similar situation, and considered it my person challenge. You will like what you did, I am sure of it. And you are very kind to do this. These acts of kindness makes quilters special people.

I can't wait to see what you do with these special blocks. It is so kindhearted of you to finish this quilt for her to give to her grandson.

Yes, you do get a lot of 'quilty' points in Heaven for this. It is really wonderful that you are willing to make a 90-year-old lady happy, when she knows that she would have never been able to finish this on her own. God Bless you for this.

Did you post a picture(s)? Why am I not seeing it. Is there something I need to do in settings?

I agree with Bear, that this quilt is probably placed on point with setting triangles. I think the pattern is 54 -40 or Fight.

What size is the bed? That might affect your choice for a final quilt size!

It does look like Tennessee Waltz block. Very nice. Love the colors. To me it looked like all the block were the same pattern, but different fabrics, almost like a sampler.

About the missing block, maybe you can embroider a center block or corner block with similar colors, with some blue snowmen or something like that. If you don't think some of the squares really match, maybe take them out and embroider some solid squares and work them in.

Just some ideas. It would be a waste to let these nice blocks go.
