LEDs give off very little heat. Incandescents (which have been outlawed, probably because they were safe and cheap) give off heat. The CFL bulbs (the curly kind) don't give off a lot of heat either, but you have to be very careful when you are replacing them, because they have to be specially disposed of because of the chemicals inside the glass. We take ours to Home Depot, and they dispose of them for us.

Last night looked up a light I saw on the Home Shopping Channel when they were selling a Phaff machine
and also a table. Then it was $35. now $ 40. but they want $12. for shipping/handling . Would have bought
one when on sale but wanted to ask hubby as it only had 3 LED lights. Liked the part where it hooks to back of machine and has a USB port cord BUT also a retractable cord that goes to wall outlet. Can be moved to different
machines/places naturally so caught my interest. Too much --must be a better buy out there somewhere.

While I would have chosen white if it was an option, I couldn't justify $80 compared to $25 I paid just to get a white cord. I can't see the cord since the back of my machine faces the wall, so I really don't care. If it bothered me that much, I'd spray paint it.

It would be a perfect choice for a featherweight! I haven't ordered one for mine yet, but plan to.
