    What about a variegated thread?
I agree with this; it would blend nicely

That is a gorgeous quilt. Did you design it? I agree the gray would not take away from the design already in place. Fmq around the peacocks will add a nice texture.

Kish, that is so beautiful. I had stumbled across this fabric once and had a completely different idea, but now I have another. I have long been fascinated by peacocks and that is one magnificent combination of colors. Just beautiful.

I agree totally. My longarmer did the middle of my cranes quilt (similar color to yours I think, you can see it in my photo album if you'd like) in a charcoal, and it turned out beautifully! She had a pattern of flowers that matched the ones on the fabric and made them about 4" each. I would have never thought to use that color and wasn't sure what to do with the main panel, I am so glad I had her do that part!

This quilt is breathtaking. It looks like Jinny Beyer's moonglow only instead of the alternating star blocks you used this gorgeous peacock fabric collection. Stunning. I agree, let the fabric and piecing be the star of this quilt and keep the quilting in the background with a blender thread like charcoal gray.
