My hometown, Portland Oregon is hosting quilt market this weekend. This is for shop owners, merchants, sellers etc. Jenny Doan and her husband were in town for market. Our local sewing machine center and fabric store (Fabric Depot) sponsored a "workshop" with her this afternoon. It was such great fun. She is a gem! She was informative, filled with ideas and short cuts and very enthusiastic. Her husband is "shy" but the two of them are a great show. Her youtube tutes are super but in person, she's a rock star! (I got her autograph!) She was talking about the projects (17) in her summer magazine. There's going to be a new fall one coming out in July.
I just want to make you jealous if you weren't in the group and encourage you to go see her if ou ever get the chance. She's a super quilter and a great story teller too.
No, I am not related to her (I wish I was!) or part of her promotion crew. I just had a great afternoon!

Girl,,,,I am sooo jealous!! I was able to get a autographed copy of her first magazine. I framed it and hung it in my sewing room. Jenny is a rockstar!!!!!

Oh, I wish I would have known she was coming to Portland. I would have driven down!! Phooey!!
