Ouch, hate it when that happens. Hope your finger heals quickly. When you can dare look at it, make certain it isn't too deep. Rotary blades have such a clean cut, they sometimes need a stitch or glue to keep it together till it heals.

Yikes! Glue??? I opened the bandage tonight to give it a good clean and put on some Neosporin. It bled all over again but it looks like it's a cut along the side of the finger rather than straight into the finger toward the bone.
Thanks all for your concern. DH says I need to get a glove.

Ouch! Hope it heals quickly. I think all of you are convincing me to look into a klutz glove.

I cut my finger nail off, clear across. That was enough warning for me, now I use a glove.
The worst rotary cutter accident happened at work! Someone had left one in the Library craft supplies for some reason, and our new City Clerk decided to use it flat ways to remove a sticky label of all things. I was in the other room when I when I heard her scream. It had slipped and buried itself in the part of her hand just below her thumb, very deeply. By the time I got to her she had pulled it out, a very bad thing to do. A slight trickle became a gusher. I had to close City Hall and get her the to the emergency room 15 miles away in a big hurry. 5 stitches, 3 internal and 2 on the outside.
Please everyone keep these away from the young and or, shall we say curious.

So sorry you joined our club. Wish you had bought one earlier, but it's never too late to buy a Slidelock Ruler. Treat yourself. It's not cheap, but sooo much less expensive than a trip to the emergency room.

Most look at the Slidelock as a notion. It's a safety tool. Spend the money and get both sizes. The trauma of a bad cut stays with you for a long time.

I bought a glove by Pons and Porter that I wear every time I cut! I don't worry too much now if I slip!
