Very pretty quilt. Definitely modern.
Sending good thoughts to the mom; that's gotta be hard.
Your quilt is a happy quilt, it should make the mom smile.

beautiful quilt... love your fabric choice and prairie points. Both PaperPrincess and ManiacQ give good suggestions, you'll just have to decide what you are most comfortable with... I tend to find meander is quicker for me than some SITD scenarios.

Your quilt is very pretty and so soft looking. I know it will be greatly appreciated. This happened to friends of mine 17 years ago. The twin who survived is now planning college and wants to be a doctor specializing in neonatal medicine. In times like this we all appreciate how very fragile life is. God's blessing on your friend and family.

Your quilt is very pretty ... I think she will love it. I like the quilting suggestions that have already been made. You could also stitch on either side of the ditch (instead of in the ditch) and meander.

Since she suggested modern, I'd go with straight lines. Colors below are not the suggested thread colors, just something that seemed to show up on my computer. For the triangles in the border, I tried to make them angle out to encompass 2 mini triangles. I'd mark where my binding comes in so as not to lose the points of the quilted triangles once the binding is attached.
EDIT: I realized those weren't pieced triangles but prairie points, so I edited my design to put triangles in the actual border. You'll also want to consider how the lines play with the green triangles along the edge when choosing which way to make the lines go. You could definitely just go with an every which way design to make it easier on yourself. No matter what, it's a beautiful quilt! Can't wait to see the final photo!

My Dad worked with a man whose daughter had twins - they were 6 months old when both of them died due to "crib death" cause unknown. That's so doggone hard - I can't even begin to imagine the pain and heartache this causes all the way around the family. Our prayers and good wishes to your daughter's friend. So sad!
