Maniac, no particular block. My thought was to sew them all together in continuous flying geese-style rows, then sew the rows together. So, yes, the bias edges will be the length of the rows. I'm up for the challenge, even for a novice quilter! I guess I'm brave? Thoughts, cautions, alternate suggestions to keep me from throwing the whole thing in the trash?

You poor thing. Taking a break is probably a good idea. Once you figure it out, you'll have a fun pretty quilt.
Good luck! I'm currently taking a break too. I am using a directional fabric for a the setting triangles on a diagonally set quilt. I have some going up-and-down and some going cross-wise. Need to figure out my mess!

Auntpiggy, what is the difference between a stay stitch and the stitch for the seam? I'm likely to mess up the bias while doing the stay stitch! (Insert self-deprecating chuckle here...)

Looking at that tute, the overlaps of the two side triangles happen at the same place. Ok.
Ah, nurtz! I've been sewing triangle pairs at a time, with edges matching, not adding one at a time in rows. I've already done 202 pairs. Sigh. (Chain stitch too easy. This isn't going to be one of those quilts, apparently!)
I'll start again. Um, I have enough to work with, I think. LOL! (Not unsewing yet, at this point! Ha!). Now to calculate how many triangles to stitch together per row...
Taking a break now, though. A bit discouraged. Maybe after supper...?

Something to think about since you are only at this point (seeing how you've been steered in the right direction about points), with the shape you have I would piece on the diagonal instead of horizontal rows. Two triangles make the rhombus shape and I would be inclined to chain sew the triangles in twos and the piece diagonal rows, like you would with blocks that are on point. To me, it'd be easier to sew with less distortion.
But that's just my first inclination, have fun however you work it out.

When you join the triangles together you have the dog ears on both ends.
When you sew the 1/4" seam it should start and end where the two triangles meet to form the dog ear.
When you do this in a string of triangles, there will be 1/4" above the point so that when you sew the rows together you will not lose your points. Mud??
