A navy blue would also make it pop, if you don't want to go too dark, like black.

Well she picked a tone on tone taupe. It is ordered and I will take a picture when it comes in.

Moda marbles are neat when you don't want a solid look to the background - there are just enough tones to give a quilt an interesting look.

I have started working on a quilt for a friend who was in a terrible auto accident. I had jewel-tone squares I wanted to use for flowers and had some lovely light lavender marbled fabric that I am using for background. Wow, are they ever pretty. The flowers stand out--so bright and cheerful. Was going to buy some light yellow but I am glad I stumbled on this combination right out of my stash!
