Please take care of it and if you haven't had a tetanus shot in the past 5 years you really do need to get one.

It's happened to a lot of us, at least once. Mine was just a nick going through the end of the finger, but I hope I learned my lesson. BE CAREFUL!

Tetanus shots are good for 10 years now. Also if an animal is involved you also need to get a booster. After my deer accident, I had to get both.

OH wow! I know that hurts! I once sewed into the tip of my finger and like a dummy left the needle down and pulled my finger away! ripped the tip of my finger open. At least you had the sence to get the needle OUT of your finger!

I haven't sewn my finger...yet. But I have stapled my thumb. While talking to someone, I mindlessly open the stapler, but my thumb under it & used the other hand to slap it. It was ouch alright. Now, THAT IS an idiot.
I must have thought since the bottom isn't on, it can't staple, forgetting that the staples are in the upper part and the lower part is only for bending the staples themselves.
In addition to the tetanus shot, keep it saturated with Neosporine (or a generic) to prevent an infection & speed up the healing.
Sew sorry it happened :(

Ouch!! I guess that's one reason I stick with books on CD when I'm sewing. Hope you don't suffer any long-term consequences.
